How can I get motor oil off my neck?
My horse has sweet itch and after someones advice Q & A I painted it with motor oil. Sweet itch is gone, but I have oil all over my saddle jodhpurs and leather boots. I managed to clean oil my boots, using gasoline, but now my black boots are brown,
Good heavens! You got advice from someone you paint horse show with motor oil? This is one of those real assets in old house that is used more, many, many years ago until about 1960 as people began to wise up to the detrimental health impacts of exposure to skin extended for engine oil, when oil companies began printing warnings in motor oil containers, warnings that began with a statement something as to avoid direct contact with eyes and skin repeated or prolonged exposure, and then the warning was followed quickly with a more serious attention by stating that exposure to used motor oil is known to cause cancer. But why press Avoid direct contact with eyes and skin repeated or prolonged exposure to fresh motor oil? Ultimately, skin care products are as Vaseline petroleum and oil products. The answer to this is simple. No chemical additives in mineral oil and Vaseline, but that engine oil lubricant is used in many automobile engines chemical additives, some of which prevent corrosion and carbon and to help keep the rubber seals pliable engine longer. I just do not understand how some people can be so ridiculous and faith of some great-great home-remedies for granddads save a few dollars, already seeing some of these tools are detrimental to animal health. Next time you want save a few dollars by treating sweet itch home remedy, I suggest you rub a horse down with olive oil solution and minced garlic. It was an old remedy my grandmother used and will not risk the horse's health. But I will not spare costs when it comes to caring for my horses so I prefer sweet itch lotions or as Dermoline Killitch. Good luck with your neck.
