Digital photography art on canvas?
I recently went to show art. One exhibit has panoramic photo canvas great landscape photos (taken with a digital camera). By the picture looked like oil paintings, but they were actually digital photos printed in this space as art. These pictures are nice and big. There were panoramic style and were about 30 "x 48" (2.5 ft ft 4 x). canvas was attached to a wooden stretcher frame for hanging on a wall directly w / o need for a frame. I wondering if anyone knew any more about this topic. Is there a special name for the process of digital photography art on canvas? What kind of printer is used? Where did you get photos developed? What else is needed for this process? Starting costs? Where can I get additional information about this topic?
I just saw this stuff in exhibition Amon Carter Museum Photography in Ft. Securities and asked about it. Apparently it is a fairly new technique. Now, if I can remember the name - Boil See links below for features and complications of this type of printing on canvas and ink jet (with large bed printers)
