One man is into portraiture with a range involving subjects like alligators to parakeets to a prized black angus and this is growing to become a successful and highly specialized art business. As he narrates, ""If anyone wishes a pet flea painting, then just give a good value snapshot of it and I'll gladly make one"". To this point, he opted to focus on animal subjects such as rabbits, horses, dogs, birds, cats, and just a single alligator.
As a growing boy, he found joy in arts and animals. But, as many an artist knows it's pretty tough to make a living out of selling fine paintings, especially when one has to support a wife and youngster. In the Bay Area where he moved he tried to pursue a career in commercial art as he continued studying. During World War II he managed to start his own display business, meanwhile continuing his first love, fine art, as a hobby.
And, as is often the case, it was his wife who suggested that he develop his hobby into a business after he had painted a portrait of a friend's pair of siamese cats, much to everyone's delight, especially the cats, who almost destroyed the painting by rubbing and purring against it. When he entered into the pet portrait painting business, he was met with a desirable financial result.
The cow palace was the home of his freshest masterpieces. This led to numerous requests for portraits of fine show horses, a champion rabbit, and a pet parakeet whose owner proudly mentions that she raised it from an egg. There was a well known recording artist not to mention television actor singer who requested for a painting of his horse. Making a portrait of a winning black angus also became one of his tasks. Aside from having subjects that rarely kick he considers it to be better than painting people portraits.
From a big university in Santa Clara comes a new director of the gallery and museum and she was the former director of a big museum in San Jose and she assumed her post following a reverend who died early last month. A well known artist herself, the new director has exhibited through the nation and locally at the palace of the legion of honor.
There will be an exhibit at a gallery in San Francisco displaying the works of a local sculptor. From his works, thirty of them covering neo classical to highly abstracted forms will be shown. Aside from being a writer, photographer, and a highly talented artist, he also conducts a ballet school. This man starred in the movie called spectre of a rose. From a private collection will come more than 200 objects, paintings, prints, books, and sculptures that will be remaining on display for an extended period of time at a famous museum.
When it comes to a couple from Pennsylvania there is a collection spanning 50 years. What it consists of include scores of other historic greats plus the works of a dozen well known painters. When he was still a student of Harvard the husband began to collect books but he was able to expand his collection to include many of the more valuable objects which he buys on installment.
