My father and I decided to go for a leisurely stroll along St. Michel up to the Luxembourg Gardens where we were attacked by birds scrambling for crumbs from my croissant. The place was jammed with joggers - I've never seen so many runners in my life. Even little kids were out running with their parents ! We walked past the Senate building and back to the hotel - but first found a great little neighborhood tucked back behind our hotel, complete with every type of restaurant known to man. We stopped at a Super Market and bought wine (of course), water and grapes ! Then we headed to the Eiffel Tower to meet Martha & My mother at 12:30.

We got there just in time to see them in line heading to the top of the Tower. Unfortunately, we found out later, they were in the wrong line - for the stairs! My mother could only make it to the first level - they tried to get on the lift to the 2nd level but were turned away. Close, but so far! My mother & Martha met a woman named Karen this morning at breakfast who joined My father & I while we waited for the girls to come down the tower. Then we headed to Rue Clere for some shopping but forgot the shops are all closed on Sunday! We had lunch and My mother, my sister headed to Musee d'Orsay while My father and I walked back to the Metro & got on the train back to the hotel. (My father is old hat at the Metro now .... he loves it !) We are watching Fiji play South Africa in the Rugby World Cup .... Paris is still recovering from France's victory last night. My mother was up until 3am with the revelers in the streets below. C'est bon!

Au revoir for now ... we head to Normandy tomorrow. We are looking forward to some quiet time in the country!
