What other than a spray) fixative (dark color can use to protect a pastel painting on canvas?
Fixative makes dark pastel colors and ruins the picture-I am putting this up on my wall and need something to spray on it to protect it so it does not run or fade.
In college, my art teacher told me to use cheap hairspray - It's cleaner spray. I have used many times with great success. But I will not draw in pastel on canvas - just in Canson Paper. Try it in a small patch of the canvas first. This is a lot cheaper than workable fixative and it works great. Pax-C
