San Francisco, Coit Tower is located on Telegraph Hill, near North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf. It was created at the request of Lillie Hitchcock Coit to beautify the the city he loves.
Coit Tower is built in Art Deco style. It is 210 feet tall and made of reinforced concrete. It was designed by Henry Howard and Arthur Brown, Jr. is the interior of Coit Tower murals done by 26 different artists.
The paintings were commissioned in the Federal Art Project. The two paintings are scenes of San Francisco Bay, painted by Jose Moya del Pino. Most of the Coit Tower murals are done in the style outdoors, with the exception of one wall made of egg tempera and pieces in the lobby elevators, which are oil on canvas. Most of these murals have a "leftist" issue, on the Great Depression and socialist political movements. [Coit Tower] Most paintings have been restored, except for a small part of the wall at the outlet of the spiral staircase to the observation platform, which was painted over the epoxy surface. At the moment, murals are open to the public for free during opening hours. However, there are negotiations with the Department of Parks and Recreation in San Francisco for charging viewers to enter the rotunda mural. The murals on the spiral staircase are only open for viewing on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock

Because it's so popular attractions, the street may be filled with almost one third of the street. It is a much better idea to spend a morning or afternoon in North Beach, and take the 39-Coit bus at the top of the hill. In this part of the city, MUNI is the best idea travel, so that visitors to the city can spend time exploring the city, instead of getting stuck in traffic.
Coit Tower is located near several other beautiful parts of San Francisco. North Beach and Embarcadero are closest to offering a wide selection of restaurants and shops.
